A few website and blogging tips on things you need to know. This is a short post so I will keep it concise. Everybody and their mama has a blog nowdays so what you blog about is yourself right? Wrong! You don’t want to blog about yourself. It’s a bad idea. I will tell you why.

If you blog about yourself who reads it? Your mom, Dad or friends? Sure thats a good start, but don’t you want to attract new visitors to your blog? Do you think that people want to here about you? These are all important questions to ask yourself because if you want to get traffic, people aren’t going to be searching for when “John got a haircut” in google.

You need to focus on making your blog about something. Let me show you what I am using this blog to rank for in google. It will rank for blogging tips, hosting tips and something else as I don’t think many people will be searching for Tech tips in google, and if they do it won’t be here they will be coming.

The thing is, Its good to choose several key words to rank for in google. I am trying for 2 and possibly 3 soon. You need to have something thats easy to rank for highly and a long term keyword or words that is difficult and takes time, that way you will have short term and long term goals for google placement.
