How to be a successful blogger
It seems everyone wants to blog and make money doing it now days. With people like Darren Rowse, Jason Kottke and Shoemoney blog just to name a few, you know that there is real money out there to be made blogging.
The problem is that there are 24.6 billion blogs out there, well not literally but there are a lot. So you may be asking why can’t mine succeed? Well I am here to tell you that it can. Lets break some numbers down and figure out why bloggers in general don’t make it.
When you blog, you have to enjoy it. That is a must or you wont keep it up. Whats your motivation? If you Blog for lets say 6 months with 1 post a day and get tired of it how many posts is that? Thats about 30 posts a month which is roughly 180 posts. Ok do some numbers with that. Lets say only only 2 people came to each different post each day, that amounts to 360 people. Not bad! But if after 6 months you have lost the drive to write to your blog, not only will your regular visitors stop coming but you will most likely never make it to grow the numbers you were hoping for to visit your site.
Several things that need to be done here then. Try posting twice a day and don’t give up. If you want a little nice extra spending money, you have to be excited or informative about what you write in your blog.
Ok so lets do some new math. If you post twice a day and blog for 1 year, how many posts is that or subjects rather that can be listed all separately for different terms in google? Thats right thats, 365 multiplied by 2 for a total of 730 posts at 2 visitors per day for each post lets say. Wow! Thats 1460 visits per day, and that right there can lead to people paying for an ad spot on your blog easily, besides all the regular readers. Thats a snowball effect. Why? Because you will start finding that a loyal readership to your blog also have some of their own blogs and they will start showing you some link love or others will start linking to some of your posts.
But another good thing to remember is that you can’t just have huge traffic overnight. Shoot for the long term. Because if your writing is good and you have established a readership you should be getting more like an average ratio of between 3-4 per post you have in total. It really works!
In the next article we will be discussing another technique in detail. Hope you enjoy it!

I’m all about tunning a quick dollar, but It’s disconcerting to think about all of these potentially great blogs coming up everywhere with the sole intention of making money. It will invariably determine the quality and content of the blog which, to me, can completely take the fun out of it.
