I am writing a further post on the power of growing your traffic by commenting on other blogs. This will certainly not give you loads of traffic, but it will get you quality visitors. Lets examine why.

The first reason you want to comment on other blogs is the fact that your comments are read by other bloggers whether you realize it or not. However just like quality content on your blog or website, quality comments are just as important on others blogs to get noticed and get attention to your own site. What do we mean with quality comments? Below I will discuss 3 aspects to commenting. read on!

Quality comments would not include putting a link to your own blog in the comment. Theres already a spot for that which many are aware of. What you want to focus on is giving a good decent length comment which might give insight or something that might make others think about what you are saying. Sometimes you can slip in a point that you have written about in a post on your blog. Don’t try to link to it, as this right away shows all you are trying to do is get people to read that article. People will find the link of your site, You don’t have to announce it.

Moving on to the next aspect of commenting is being a comment SUPER STAR! What this means is that your comments have been not only good but have also been numerous on a given blog. Let me give you an example. Look at Johnchow.com, how many hits do you think his blog gets per day. Thousands of hits! These thousands can convert to a small fraction of people that see your comments in more way than one. Take a look at the sidebar of his site. You see the recent comments area, but also below that you see the top commentators which also gets attention from visitors. You should have a goal of making these kind of lists on peoples blogs to help you get a bit more quality traffic.

The next aspect of commenting is using Digg traffic as your ally. How can you do this? By looking at the articles which are gaining quick popularity and are ready to hit the front page of the site. make sure its a read worthy article that people will actually look at. Then once you have read the article comment on it. The reason being that soon the article will get a ridiculous amount of traffic and once again a fraction of people will see that comment and if it is good will convert to your site to see what you have to offer. Each little bit helps you to gain popularity in the community and build upon what you have already established.
