Firefox Keyword search tool saves you time

September 24, 2007, Category: internet

firefox-logo.pngThis tool cuts out actually having to go to a site and then clicking on the search field box to try to find something. All you have to do is specify a keyword you want to use for that search box and you can just type it up in your browser bar. Confused still? Let me show you what I mean.

  • To use the Firefox search tool, just right click on a search box you might use frequently, link Google.
  • Next click on “Add a Keyword for this search…”
  • Choose a name for it, and choose a keyword that you don’t mind typing out. For example if its for the google search you could use “goog” as your keyword.
  • Now it’s time to test out your quick search method by typing the keyword you specified in your browser bar. See that, it goes straight to the site to search. Better yet, try using the keyword in your browser bar followed by a space and then add the word or words you would search for. (ex: goog baseball) Excellent isn’t it?

Now you can see how this could really save you some time by searching all your favorite sites right from your browser bar. I hope you all enjoy this, and next post I will have another great little tool you can use as well.
