It has always been discussed many a numerous times on the best way to get links to a website. Well everyone has their own opinions and many feel they know the best way. While content is king and the way you display your content does have a factor in whether people link to you, there are ways you can get links to your site or blog legitimately.

When you first built your site or blog I am sure you were very concerned with how it would look and thats good. Testing different looks and asking friends is important, but getting links to your site is just as important and the best way to do that is asking any friends in the online world first of all if they wouldn’t mind giving you one.

Secondly the content you write should be top notch. Not copied by someone else, as this will hurt you in the long run. After you have written something of value it is always good to submit an article along the same lines as your subject to an article directory. Within that article you can put a link that directs people to your site for further info. This way people will download the article and use it for their own site and that will give you a link not only from the person that downloaded it but also from the article directory!

A third way to get links coming in to your site would be to set up a blogger account and start blogging about something that relates to what your main site is about as well, then using anchor text links within the articles you write there. Over time your blogger blog will carry weight and give some boost your main website or blog.

A fourth way in which you can get links to your site is paying for them. Now Some shun this idea but you will notice if you go to some of the top websites that other top websites pay for links as well as banner spots.

A word of caution. Never use link farms or places that will add you as one of many links already there. Also some sites more recently have been banned or hurt by google for trading off massive amounts of links through their networking methods. Be very careful and always deal with someone one on one when getting a link from them. make sure their site is legitimate before you buy.
