Since the last post on getting 100 zooms, I have learned a few things about that particular post. The post could have been a lot less complex. A simple can Bloggingzoom get 100 zooms would have probably been better. Now, I know 10 dollars is not that much to give away per person, but I thought it might be a motivating factor for about a minute of some peoples time. Also One larger prize may have been better than giving out several smaller prizes.

Bloggers Selfish? YES

The thing I really want to focus on though is the fact a great majority of bloggers are selfish. Sure, there are a lot of successful selfish bloggers out there, but the successful selfish ones know that by participating in things that they can be benefited on their own blog. But then there are other bloggers that want to spend no time to comment or do anything to help build the traffic they have. Yea I know, I know I posted that article on Wasting time on blogs, and that still holds true. You can waste time on blogs reading nonsense, like how much John Chow made for last month or a paid review, or a post on something that is totally unrelated to anything of value. Sure I choose what I want to read and I know you do too. But if you read everything that pops up on your screen you would barely accomplish anything.

Lack of Participation

Now moving on to my next thought about how a lack of participation can effect BloggingZoom. Lets say you just submit your own articles, or heck someone else is who we are talking about cause you are actually reading this. So lets say Joe Blow submits his blog posts to Bloggingzoom and he wants traffic to his site, but is not willing to even go to others submitted posts. Where does that leave him? Sure he might get a few impressions here and there and some traffic from Google, but he is not leaving a lasting impression anywhere. Thats what you want to do. Leave a lasting impression on people so they come back, and then they tell there friends when you post something great. If a person doesn’t give in some way, then how do they expect to get back by increasing a feed count or by getting visiting regulars or becoming popular with an online community?

Getting involved

Bottom line here, people have to get involved to see a nice return on an investment. If your blogging and spending all that time writing articles, then don’t you want a reader base? Don’t you want people to come see your blog? People just need to be involved! If you don’t zoom my posts, then zoom others and submit a few posts here and there from blogs that aren’t involved with Bloggingzoom yet. Imagine if 500 Bloggingzoom members submitted 1 post everyday from someone elses blog that had never used Bloggingzoom, how many new people do you think would sign up everyday and join in participating? Do you think this would be beneficial? Heck yes it would! This is what Court and Vic have been telling people. People can take some action and help themselves and help others. I am making it a goal to submit at least one post from a blog on the internet somewhere that may have never used BZ. If you read this post and do the same thing then more people can only benefit in the long run of things. Lets make variety count. Submit all different subjects and benefit the greater good of all bloggers.
